    Essential Lip Care Tips: Hydration, Exfoliation, and Nighttime Routines for Healthy Lips

    Lip care is used to maintain soft, hydrated and healthy lips.

    Hydration:

    Drink plenty of water to avoid dry and chapped lips. Use simple lip balms which contains hyaluronic acid, butter, beeswax or coconut oil. Natural oil like coconut oil, Almond oil or jojoba oil also very helpful to lock moisture in lips. By improving diet and improve good intake of vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids, dietary source of these fibers are nuts, seeds, fish and flaxseed. Avoid licking lips too much, licking may help to hydrate your lips but saliva evaporate quickly leave dehydrated lips.

    Exfoliation:

    Exfoliation helps to maintain softness of lips. Use exfoliators twice a week. Use DIY lip scrub of two ingredients, mix honey and sugar and make thick paste use this paste twice a week to exfoliate lips. You can store this paste over a month. Use soft brush to remove dead skin from lips. You can use same teeth brush or can buy separate lip brush.

    Avoid harmful habits:

    Avoid picking or biting your lips too much this leads to the long term damage and scarring. Instead of picking use exfoliator to avoid irritation. Lip products having alcohol, menthol, artificial fragrance are harmful for lip check label every time before buying any product. Smoking damage lip and leads to the discoloration of formation of lines around mouth, also reduce blood circulation which leads to the unhealthy lips. Overuse of matte lipsticks makes lips dry due to the dry formulas of the lipsticks.

    Night care:

    Do proper night care of lips. Remove all the products from lips and gently clean lips after this exfoliate lip twice a week. Do not exfoliate daily. Apply thick layer of lip balm daily before bed or apply coconut oil or small amount of honey to lock moisture. Use silk or satin pillowcase, silk pillowcase are gentle to lips, pillowcase should be clean. Use humidifier if air in your bedroom is dry, especially in winter’s air is less humid which is not good for your lips.

    Addressing specific issues:

    Chapped lips are one of the most common issue, often result from harsh weather, lip picking and dehydration. To treat chapped lips use honey, drink plenty of water and do proper lip care. Cold sores are also the lip issues caused by herpes simplex virus. Lips burn badly in cold sores and person face illness. It is important not to touch cold sore as it can separate from one place to another. Angular cheilitis is a condition characterize by painful cracks in corners of lips, treatment involves keeping the area clean and dry. Allergic reaction can also cause by sharing lip balm and lipsticks, to maintain lip hygiene do not share any kind of lipsticks, lip balm or lip pencils.
